Official Charts Overview - 16th February 2024

We reach the middle of February and also another Friday. Yes, it's that time of the week again; let's take a look at what's been going on in the UK Singles and Albums charts on the 16th February 2024.

SINGLES

Missing out on the top 40 is Beyonce's new single "16 Carriages". This is because it was released in the middle of the week and is the first taste of her second act of "Renaissance".

Into the top 40, it's Tracy Chapman at #38 with the iconic song "Fast Car". Tracy performed the song along with Luke Combs at the Grammy Awards and it was met with acclaim.

One place higher, Love Island's Wes Nelson teams up with R&B legend Craig David on the song "Abracadabra".

Over his singing career, Wes has collaborated with Hardy Caprio, Yxng Bane and Clean Bandit.

Noah Kahan secures another hit with "Forever" at #31. The new superstar of folk continues to have an amazing year so far.

Controversial rapper, Kanye West and collaborator Ty Dolla Sign have two hits at #12, #17 and #18 with "Carnival", "Burn" and "Back To Me".

These three songs come from the new album 'Vultures', which was released out of nowhere.

In the top 10 at #9, Beyonce enters her Cowgirl phase with "Texas Hold 'Em". Along with "16 Carriages", it was released in the middle of the week and has made a great impact so far.

To be honest, Beyonce's new song does a better job than any country song over the past year. It's even been played in some American country radio stations, helping introduce Country music to a new generation.

YG Marley continues to rise at #5 with "Praise Jah In The Moonlight". This Friday also sees his Granddad's biopic 'One Love' enter the theatres, reviews so far have been mixed.

As Benson Boone's "Beautiful Things" rises to #3, Noah Kahan secures a seventh week at number one in the UK Singles Charts. Poor Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

ALBUMS

Dizzee Rascal's new album 'Don't Take It Personal' enters at #27. It's his eighth album, yet it's his lowest charting album of his career.

After his half-time performance at the Superbowl, Usher's album 'Coming Home' charts at #24. His first album 'Usher' was released 30 years ago.

Zara Larsson's new album 'Venus' charts at #15. It's her 3rd album and is her lowest charting album, must be fan fatigue.

Declan McKenna's 'What Happened To The Beach' charts at #3, Kanye West & Ty Dolla Sign's 'Vultures' takes the runner-up spot and Noah Kahan finally claims his first number one album.

Noah joins Drake, Stormzy, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and more artists that have done the UK Chart double.
